SAFETY
Before you train.
Physical readiness
UMBRA work is partner-based movement with contact, pressure, and change of direction. It is beginner-safe by design — problems are scaled to the people in the room — but it is physical. If you have a condition, injury history, or any doubt, say so before your first session. The coach will adapt or, when necessary, tell you this isn't the right time.
Consent & communication
Every session begins from the same rule: contact is negotiated, not assumed. You set your own intensity. You can pause, stop, or sit out at any time — no explanation required. The coach is responsible for the boundary; you are responsible for communicating yours.
The space
UMBRA operates from a private garage laboratory in Roseville. It is a working space — dark, compact, and real. Session size is deliberately small (up to four people) so every participant has room and attention.
The address is shared privately after you confirm a spot — never published. Arrival instructions come with your confirmation.
Before your first session
- · Complete the intake questions when you express interest.
- · Review and sign the waiver (required before you can train).
- · Wear clothes you can move and sweat in; no shoes on the mat.
- · Arrive a few minutes early. Sessions start and end on time.
- · Eat light beforehand. Water is available.
